  • A great resource for Membership sites owners

This podcast is full of useful information. I am not a big podcast listener usually, but I did load a few episodes for a recent road trip, and I had to pull off several times to note down the great ideas I got while listening.

I must have listened to 40 episodes and still finding useful nuggets of information in about every episode!

I did also join the Membership Academy, which goes one level further and I am finding it a great resource, these geeks know what they are talking about!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

474 - Why Your Membership Needs a Framework with Charlotte Crowther
Q: What would you say are some of the biggest missteps and mistakes that people make before we set them off to go and piece their framework together?
Common mistakes include rushing to create a gimmick or acronym without time to think, building a loose collection of ideas instead of a coherent framework, and delaying development rather than iterating and testing over time.
474 - Why Your Membership Needs a Framework with Charlotte Crowther
Q: Let's get practical. If someone's mapping out their strategy for a new membership or they're running an existing one with just a bunch of stuff sitting there, where do they start in this whole process of developing a Signature Framework?
Start by defining the end goal (point A to point B), design the steps backwards, determine the premise and the core pillars, then create spaces in the community to discuss and apply those pillars with supporting visuals and language.
474 - Why Your Membership Needs a Framework with Charlotte Crowther
Q: So I think we really need to start by defining what a framework is because I feel like it's one of those words that people don't always use correctly.
A framework is a broad term that can be simple or complex, but for it to be effective it should be a structured body of work with clear levels (primary, secondary, tertiary) that helps people move from A to B and is easy to remember and communicate.
458 - Secrets of a Productive Membership Owner With Louise Miller
Q: How do you focus on what's important?
Productivity starts with a mindset shift and recognizing that it's not about doing more; it's about what matters most.
439 - Gamifying The Membership Experience with Kimba Cooper-Martin
Q: What do you do with members who just don't care about gamification?
It's okay that not everyone wants to engage with gamification, and some might just prefer to lurk instead of actively participating.
