  • Great. Wish all the 'Root and Branch' episodes were still available on this podcast or even the 'Naturefile' podcast though. Only about half of the episodes are available.

  • Root and Branch ep. 2 - Hazel

Oh I so love this meditation on the Hazel. For after a lifetime being called ‘Hazel-nut’ - and worse ( in England where it is less seen ) after listening I feel it is a beautiful name and I can now be pleased I am called Hazel. Thank you.

Q: What new material or discoveries did the research team uncover about Dubourg and his odes?
Scholars describe the archival work that led to the realization that many odes survived only in scattered manuscript form; researchers reconstructed performances by aligning librettos with music and dating pieces from the 1720s to the 1760s, allowing a more complete understanding of his birthday odes and their context.
