  • Great podcast

No, not one of the best, the best.

Still the best of all the political podcasts

One of the best political journalists in the UK, excellent choice of guests too.

Somebody needs to sort out either his microphone or microphone technique though.

  • Consistently Terrific

If you like Nicks writing then you’ll definitely enjoy this, subscribe and you won’t miss an episode, in fact even though many episodes are topical, most are about issues so fundamental that it’s worth going back and listening to previous episodes in the channel, Ann Applebaum in this week and as good as ever

So pleased to have found Nick Cohen! Have missed him at the Observer and just listened to conversation with Sunder. Really good discussion it felt like being at the dining table with them after a good lunch. So much clarity and good sense I hope the Labour Party strategists (if there are any) were listening

Guilty as charged! Labour's threat to juries
Q: What is so special about trial by jury?
Trial by jury is viewed as both a historical right and a modern mechanism that lends legitimacy to the legal process, allowing citizens to have a say in criminal justice.
Exploding the myths of immigration
Q: What should we do? What should we be doing that we're not doing now?
On managed migration, we need stability in policy, but on asylum and small boats, international cooperation and potentially some tougher measures should be considered to manage and reduce numbers.
Exploding the myths of immigration
Q: What do the Nigel Farages of this world get wrong?
Farage suggests that the government isn't getting on top of immigration issues due to incompetence or reluctance, but the reality is that detaining migrants and deporting them is much more complex and not simply a matter of toughness.
Exploding the myths of immigration
Q: Can you explain what the infernal circle is?
The infernal circle refers to the cycle of residents tightening immigration controls, which then leads to migrants finding ways around those rules, resulting in a perception that immigration is out of control, further prompting residents to impose stricter controls.
