  • Dumb Reviews

Some of these reviews are absurd! This podcast is the best, and Jonas is the reason I joined the athletic in the first place. Great show with a smart approach to the game. I haven’t missed a show in 3 years. Anything Jonas is on is much watch, but I stay for James’ jokes!

  • Too Negative!

I want to enjoy the podcast but there needs to be a better balance of negative and positive narratives.

  • Not it

Jonas has the most brutal takes I ever heard. For example “ if you trade lilligren and you look at that defence, what do you got?” A better defence Jonas

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Leafs handle the Habs on opening night
Q: Do you think the gap between the Leafs and Canadiens will narrow this year?
I expect Montreal to get more points, but I'm not sure how many fewer points Toronto will get, suggesting a closer competition.
Leafs handle the Habs on opening night
Q: How do you view what happened ultimately in the game?
The Leafs played better in the third period and once they took the lead, they locked it down well, while Montreal seemed to struggle to mount much of a pushback.
Is Easton Cowan a lock to make the Maple Leafs?
Q: Do you worry at all about the puck possession issues on this team, the lack of offense from the defense?
There is definitely potential for more offense from the defense this year than what we saw last year.
Is Easton Cowan a lock to make the Maple Leafs?
Q: What do you think of that line that they have him on there with Macelli and Dakota Joshua?
I think it has the makings of being a third line identity line, something the Leafs have lacked for so long.
Does Nick Robertson have a chance to get back into the Leafs good book?
Q: Is it realistic to expect they can land an impact top six right-winger this year?
It's challenging but not impossible. The Leafs have to focus on acquiring a high-end player without compromising their future assets.
