The content itself in this podcast is great. One complaint is having to skip 2-3 mins in to actually start hearing the podcast. Another gripe is that whoever places the ads into the pod just drops them in the middle of dialogue and it ruins the flow of the podcast. Updating and removing a star because they STILL haven’t made adjustments. Its a shame

Too bad you have to advertise for a political agenda fundraiser. Drop your virtue signaling woke advertising and this is a top flight podcast. Like most fans we prefer your sports commentary, not your political opinions.

I enjoy Chris and Julian’s insights into the NHL and hockey in general, and their chemistry is good, almost bordering on homoerotic at times (Julian to Chris and not the other way around). I also appreciate that this newest season is louder and that Chris (so far) has been using a broadcast quality microphone on each episode.

Episodes frequently blend tactical game-by-game breakdowns with ownership and management dynamics, offering insight into how leadership changes shape rosters, drafting, and playoff chances. The dynamic between the hosts—Chris Johnston's insider reporting and Julian McKenzie's broader reporting perspective—drives a fast-paced, informed conversation that covers marquee teams (notably Toronto and Edmonton) while weaving in league-wide context, narrative shifts, and occasional light banter.
