  • Best Toronto/Canada Sports Show

I have been listening to JD since the “Good Show” days. My favourite episodes are the “Good Hour” ones with Ben Ennis but I listen to all of this podcast. Honest, hilarious, and relatable takes on Toronto and Canadian sports. Did you know he’s from the Yukon?!

  • So much potential, so much left on the table.

The Jays are having a historically bad year and perhaps so are the podcasts that should be the top of the game. Too often these conversations of people talking over each other so you hear absolutely nothing. Even worse, there seems to be no plan or outline as they suggest one idea and then refute a couple of sentences later with no recall of what they just said! This is the tweedledum and tweedledee of jays podcasts.

  • Hot Take

If you enjoy early-middle-age guys who are obsessed with seeming young, sound perpetually annoyed and pissy, talk down to everyone and come off like they think they’re the smartest people in the room… then “jump on” and “chop it up” with the King of Hot Takes. When JD avoids all that b.s. he’s actually quite insightful.

  • This is usually a fun listen

Disappointed in JD’s anti Olympic hockey take. Feels like he really moves as the wind blows… Update: While I don’t like some aspects of the show, I do think that JD is relatable - and I’m bumping my rating to five stars because I agree with every single word of his take on Ovie’s chase of Gretzky. Show is at its best when JD has a co-host like Ben or Blake to provide contrast. Love the bit about snooze on alarm clocks. // Original review: I listen to this show in part because JD often has great ... more

Kawhi’s Finally a Raptor, So What Now w/ Es Baraheni + Jays Choke Blame Game
Q: What's up, brother? How are we doing?
Es Baraheni answers with a morning greeting and shares relief that the Kawhi storyline is wrapping up, shifting focus to basketball discussion and what's next for the Raptors.
Cy Young Cease, New Additions and Jays Pitching w/ Adam Ottavino
Q: What makes Dylan Cease such a standout this season?
Ottavino and the host explain Cease's breakthrough due to a refined mix and rhythm, coupled with a slight adjustment to pitch usage, resulting in sustained dominance and elite strikeout rates.
Jays Deadline Path w/ Ben Nicholson-Smith
Q: What would need to happen for the Blue Jays to become a significant buyer at the deadline?
They would need to show credible momentum in the standings (e.g., win streaks or a path to playoff contention) and pursue controllable starting pitching, not rentals, while keeping long-term asset value in mind; the goal would be to strengthen the core for the next few years rather than chasing a short-term surge.
Jays Deadline Direction w/ Jim Bowden, Alfie is a Leaf & the Great Sports Tech Disaster
Q: What's up, Jim? How are we doing, brother?
Bowden discusses his current role as an insider analyst, then gives a quick overview of the Blue Jays' situation and the trade deadline landscape, emphasizing that the decision will depend on how the team performs going into August and potential injuries.
