  • Great Access & Interviews

Blair & Barker is a great show, but it’s likely not for everyone. You’ve got two guys who bicker back and forth like a TV married couple. You’ve got an older curmudgeon in Blair and Barker with his strong Virginian accent. Barker laughs all the time even at things that aren’t particularly funny, but the sound of his wheezing laugh somehow makes things funnier. I personally love the dynamic, but it may not be for everyone.

I love Blair when the Jays are losing because he tends to bring out his ... more

Some one needs to say it,we didn’t give Vladdy the contract to teach Okamoto how to wear his cap backwards. Major league baseball wants you to tuck your shirt in. Run to first like Ernie does every time. You say over and over you want to have fun do your job it will be lots of fun stop being the play ground clown!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Reality of a Looming Deadline with Kevin Pillar & Kevin Frandsen
Q: How should the team balance immediate needs with long-term development, especially around Vladdy Guerrero Jr. and the core lineup?
Frandsen and Pillar suggest that keeping Vladdy productive while adding a legitimate run producer to surroundings could maximize the window of contention, but the decision is complicated by contracts, player performance, and market conditions.
The Reality of a Looming Deadline with Kevin Pillar & Kevin Frandsen
Q: What do you think about where the Blue Jays stand after that weekend in Boston and the upcoming game against Washington?
Pillar argues that while the weekend series was tough, the team still has enough talent to compete and there are multiple moving parts, including how the manager and front office handle player usage and the trade deadline, which will define the rest of the season.
Could the Phillies Be the Jays' Best Trade Match?
Q: What do you think the Phillies would prioritize in a potential Jays-Phillies deal?
Lochlahn March suggests the top priority would be a right-handed hitting outfielder to address Phillies' lefty-heavy struggles, with Varsho as a plausible fit, while Hoffman could help in the bullpen as a left-handed reliever; overall, she emphasizes finding a balance between immediate impact and preserving wait-for-future upside.
The Blue Jays' Trade Market with Jeff Passan and Erik Kratz
Q: What do you think the Blue Jays should target at the deadline?
Kratz and the hosts suggest prioritizing a controllable, impact-inning bat and bullpen help, while weighing the tradeoff of giving up depth for a potential longer-term upgrade; Passan adds market context and emphasizes evaluating cost vs. payoff in a busy or selective deadline.
Taking A Win into Fenway with John Schneider
Q: How does Okamoto's recent stretch affect the lineup and approach?
The players are encouraged to hit less aggressively, take pitches, and focus on swinging at pitches they can handle to break out of a rough week.
