Zombie films are a dime a dozen these days, for both good and for bad. For every Shaun of the Dead there's a hundred Walking Deads, everyone's favorite show to hate watch. With Train to Busan, however, there's no hate watching as it's one of the fine... more
At this point in his career, a Spielberg film should be an event worth heading to the local multiplex to check out; should being the key phrase. Couple that with a return to the subject matter of aliens that seems like an equation for cinematic succe... more
While I may not be a Gen-Zer, I can most definitely get down with their brand of horror, especially if Backrooms is any indication of the quality and concept of their take on the genre. Contrast that with a "horror"-comedy franchise that's returned f... more
We're running it back with some films we've already watched with a Robert Eggers film that has become a modern day classic: The VVitch. Starring Anya-Taylor Joy as Thomasin, she along with her family live in 1630s New England which may or may not be ... more

I enjoyed that the episode on the documentary, "An Unknown Compelling Force," featured guests grounded in actual physics and mountaineering. Keep up the good work!
This show is a treat, host Chris Stachiw talks about a wide range of films and he has wonderful guests such as Mike White (The Projection Booth) and Father Malone (Midnight Viewing). Chris' is open to a films' merits and his guests opinion even when he himself doesn't like the film under discussion. And the show is a lot of fun and has introduced me to a lot of films.

I’m sorry but the host of this show is so annoying He seems to own it tbf, being annoying I mean, but annoying is what he is.
Most of the regular guests are ok though.
Really enjoyed listening to your Confess/All things Fletch episode. Your overall research of the books was impressive and the group’s info and opinions about the world of Fletch was fun to listen to. Great Job guys! -Laker Jim
The first time I heard Chris’s voice it scared me. It reminded me of every intellectual bully that talks with authority. But after a few episodes I’m addicted to his insights and the thoughtful attention he gives most of his subjects and his delivery just reinforces his passions. He has great banter with his co-hosts and often delves into topics I hadn’t considered on films I’ve lived with for years. His episode choices are both deep and light so you can pick an episode for what ever mood you’re... more

The show pairs film lovers with sharp, opinionated discussions that mix deep-dive analysis with playful banter. Across recent episodes, the conversations orbit film history, genre experimentation, and the craft of filmmaking, often bringing in guests from academia or industry to shed context on storytelling, acting choices, and cultural impact. Episodes frequently balance reverent appreciation with critique of marketing, CGI, and tonal decisions, while occasional crossovers and thematic explorations (law schools, policing cinema, modern Westerns, conspiracy cinema) give listeners thoughtful angles on both classics and contemporary releases. A standout is the willingness to tackle provocative topics with a mix of rigor and humor, making it a... more
