  • Smart, funny and entertaining every time

Father Malone knows his stuff, is a great host (as someone else said, he’s got a voice that’s made for podcasting) and treats an episode of, say, Tales from the Darkside with the same open-minded thoughtfulness that he gives a classic movie.

  • Must Listen to Podcast!

Thank you Father Malone for introducing me to the 1976 cult classic animated film 'Allegro Non Troppo' by Bruno Bozzetto. I have never seen this before. Being a cat lover I will be especially grateful for you introducing me to this melancholy yet beautiful short animation of the cat’s life. It was immensely moving and brought me to tears. Your knowledge is astounding, your voice hypnotic and your delivery is just perfect. I have caught up with most of your podcasts and you are on my must listen ... more

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Father Malone's Weekly Guest Spot - Raising Arizona (1986) - A Year in Horror with Paul Waller
Q: What's the worst Nicolas Cage film you've seen so far?
Ghost Rider is cited as the most disappointing in terms of execution, though not necessarily the worst; the guest argues Cage has done many projects for money, yet remains a compelling actor with a broad range of choices.
Father Malone's Weekly Guest Spot - Raising Arizona (1986) - A Year in Horror with Paul Waller
Q: Where does this film fit in your history with Cage? Was this formative or did it come later?
For the guest, Raising Arizona was formative; he saw it in theaters at 14 and it helped cement his long-standing interest in Cage, alongside his earlier work in Valley Girl and other projects that shaped his career trajectory.
Father Malone's Weekly Guest Spot - Escape from New York - The Projection Booth
Q: What was the idea behind Snake Plissken's introduction and its impact on the film's tone?
Snake's early scenes establish him as a morally gray antihero, which reshapes audience expectations of the hero archetype and grounds the story in a more cynical, realistic vibe.
Fusco Fest - The Babe (1992)
Q: What did you appreciate about the production design of the film?
The hosts praised the authenticity and detail of the production design and how the costumes accurately reflected the era.
Fusco Fest - The Babe (1992)
Q: What did you think about the performance of John Goodman as Babe Ruth?
They thought Goodman was miscast and didn't convincingly portray Ruth's character, which led to a disconnect between the audience and the character.
