Insights 2026: David Hance, Bathroom Brands
Q: What indicators do you look at when reading the news in the morning to gauge recovery or momentum for the market?
I monitor housing market activity, house sales, and local stock levels; weak footfall and slower decision-making signal a slow recovery, but recovery is possible if stock, on-time delivery, and quick problem solving are prioritized.
Insights 2026: David Hance, Bathroom Brands
Q: So looking at 2026, can you see any improvements or growth, and where do you think it will come from?
growth will come from service returning to customers, price realignment, and a focus on new product introductions to re-ignite demand; the economy is uncertain, but the business aims to outperform by tightening regions and improving delivery while staying close to customers.
AWARDS 2026 BONUS: Meet Richard Sloan from Sonas Bathrooms
Q: How's things at Sonas? You know, how's business at the moment?
Richard notes that Sonas has had consistent, strong double-digit growth since entering the UK market three years ago, with a positive outlook for next year and ongoing initiatives around product development, showroom strategy, and partnerships.
Insights 2026: Simeon Gabriel, Hettich
Q: What will be the key focuses for Hettich in the next 12 months?
Hettich plans to push significant product and platform innovations, showcase at key trade events like KBB Birmingham, and help retailers adapt to changing spaces and consumer needs by tailoring solutions to the UK market.
Insights 2026: Simeon Gabriel, Hettich
Q: For the market as a whole, what are your thoughts for 2026 and are we going to see green shoots or a slower recovery?
There are encouraging signs from government housing and town-building plans that could catalyze demand, especially in new build and renovation activity, though the exact pace remains uncertain and may hinge on broader economic factors.
