The 2nd episode is titled, "Fundamentals of Renaissance Painting," so what is it about? Michael Angelo, DaVinci, other great artists of the time? Nope. immediately into women of the Renaissance. if you want to cover this niche topic in a later episode, great, but women of the Renaissance are far from the "Fundamental" movers and shakers. Misleading title and does not provide any overview of fundamentals.
Thank you, absolute gold.
I’m not typically a person who reviews things but I am doing so because this is what I have been searching for. I’ve been infatuated with the Italian renaissance and have been teaching myself Italian the past year and wanted to get more cultural information with art and found this podcast. I’m only three episodes in but I can tell I’m going to absorb so much good, interesting, and fun information. Thank you for sharing your passion!
This is podcast is a pure pleasure to listen to. Lawrence’s passion comes through with the clarity that Michelangelo sought in his sculptures and with the flowing fluidity of Leonardo’s depictions of water. Fabulous gets used too often. But it is spot on with this podcast.
It’s rare that you listen to a podcast where the presence of the host sounds so smooth and natural.
Lawrence stands in stark contrast to the standard “Reading a script” style you hear from most every other host of a podcast of this sort. He’s obviously knowledgeable and has put a lot of effort into planning out his episodes — and yet, it sounds like he’s just chatting with you about the subject.
Highly recommended, and I hope he’s able to make this a full time job!
