  • Superb and highly addictive

Firstly, I’m absolutely blown away by Jon’s knowledge of popular music. He seems to know more music than seems possible for one individual to know in one lifetime! And across multiple genres and decades too.

I love the questions he asks and his total unbridled enthusiasm in every podcast of his I’ve listened to.

I think he creates a lovely and important record of his guests’ lives told in their own voices which will be there for future generations to enjoy and learn from.

  • Lamoreax is an idiot

The artists this guy gets on are fantastic w great things to say, but the interviewer himself is an absolute moron. He’s ignorant and insulting and too dumb to notice. Fortunately for him his guests are too gracious to point this out. Don’t know why these artists subject themselves to the humiliation of this podcast.

  • The Hustle | Bold interviews with essential artists

Jon Lamoreax asks the burning questions most other journalists and podcasters are too afraid - and/or uninformed - to ask. With a wonderful bias toward obscure 80s musical artists and producers, The Hustle delivers in entertaining, surprising, and unique ways. Thanks for delivering a consistently great pod.

Q: You've worked with a lot of Australian bands; what's your take on cross-continental collaboration in pop/rock?
Cross-continental work is very normal in this field; what matters is the people, the songs, and the shared vibe. Distance isn't a barrier when there's good communication and a mutual love for crafting recordings that feel human and alive.
Episode 568 - Mitch Easter
Q: What was special about the American session at Reflection Studio for the Salt Collective project?
The American session felt memorable because the environment and the team brought a certain energy, and the engineering choices—like capturing true drum sounds and later using samples to enhance them—helped shape a present, clean yet warm sonic character.
Episode 568 - Mitch Easter
Q: How did you get involved with the Salt Collective project and what drew you to contribute to it?
I joined because Stephane had a compelling idea to have a flexible, collaborative setup where artists could layer in parts, and I enjoyed the open-ended nature of contributing to songs rather than dictating them, which fit my experience and taste.
