I looked forward to every episode of this podcast series. It demonstrates how war trauma is inter generational and can affect so many people in all different ways. This family lost so much, even their name, and yet through painstaking research they recreated their family.
So impressing to listen to.
Well researched, engaging. Best pod this year.
Brilliant podcast- sorry I don’t believe that the German family did not know the truth. I’d have asked for some of the annual revenue from no 48.
As someone whose dad was also a Jewish refugee in WWII it was incredibly eye opening and beautifully told. Long live the family!

Historically themed storytelling with a strong focus on personal narratives from conflict zones and international law. Episodes center on first-hand experiences from soldiers and journalists, exploring moral ambiguity, media narratives, and the human costs of war. A notable through-line is how individuals on opposing sides interpret the same events, making it a rich resource for discussions on truth, accountability, and resilience. The show often features deep-dive interviews and archival context, creating compelling case studies for audiences interested in history, international affairs, and media ethics.
