Saw an Instagram post mentioning this podcast the other day, had never heard of it, but thought it sounded interesting. The hosts discuss two contrasting mistakes: one tends to skip eating before long hikes, while another tends to eat too much or eat at the wrong times, implying that both underfueling and overfueling can hinder performance. They emphasize pacing too fast and not listening to body signals, advocating for a slower, steadier approach and building a true aerobic base.
21: Freya Hodson Part 2 - Hiking Influencers, Bad Publicity, Women's Hiking Fashion + More
Q: How did your influencer presence start to take off, and was it overnight or gradual?
Freya describes falling into the space gradually, initially led by meetups and connections, with Instagram posting eventually attracting brand ambassadorship and community growth, rather than a planned launch.
16: Freya Hodson Part 1 - Hiking With a Cat, Women's Safety, Instagram Trolls + More
Q: How do you stay safe while solo hiking?
Freya emphasizes the importance of preparation, checking conditions and equipment, and letting someone know where you are going.
3: Everybody Poops, How Much Water Do You Really Need on a Hike & How To Train For The Downhilll
Q: How much water do you really need on a hike, and how to judge refill points?

9: Is It Possible To Overpack? Our Dream Adventures, Saying Hello In The Mountains + More!
Q: How do you develop good decision-making skills?
The consensus is to be as prepared as possible; conduct thorough research, understand your route, and if uncertain or faced with bad weather, it's often better to turn back than risk injury or confusion.
