  • Highly informative

I first started listening to Arshy when he was doing Commons. I’m glad he left because I can no longer support anyone associated with the Canadaland brand. This podcast is even better than Commons, and it was excellent.

  • High hopes let down

Irregular posting of episodes. Ultimately makes the content feel irrelevant. Great effort with ineffective execution. Not only boring, but hard to follow. It feels like they assumed success instead of d of earning it from a dedicated audience. Unfortunately bad.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Chaos in the Saint John Police Force | A Few Bad Apples
Q: What is the core source of the tension in the Saint John Police Force as discussed in this episode?
The core tension stems from a clash between the police chief, the union, and officers, with allegations of hostile remarks, micromanagement, and attempts to modernize the force, alongside broader labor and governance disputes that threaten morale and accountability.
Inside Canada’s Billionaire Sexual Assault Trial
Q: Could you summarize what Shemesh says happened here and how she argues it has a kind of connection to the Me Too moment that has been going on for quite a while now?
Brean explains that Shemesh argues the push to believe accusers under MeToo may have led police to investigate too late or too shallowly, causing some charges to fall apart or be discredited, and that this reflects broader tensions between prosecutorial caution and the impulse to support complainants.
What the mainstream media won't tell you about Jeffrey Epstein
Q: How does this fit in with American intelligence?
It's probable that Epstein's dealings created back channels to significant foreign figures, suggesting a deeper interaction with American intelligence agencies.
What the mainstream media won't tell you about Jeffrey Epstein
Q: What do you think the mainstream media is getting wrong about the recent Epstein email leaks?
The focus has been too narrow on the sexual scandal aspect, overlooking profound questions about Epstein's connections to power in the United States.
Killing Canada Post
Q: How unusual is it for a Crown Corporation?
It is a bit unique and it's unique because this is a Crown Corporation and Canada Post has only been a Crown Corporation since the 80s.
