  • Beautiful content

The conversation with Sabina Belli particularly left me feeling deeply optimistic about what the future can do and feel with what we have. It’s actually kind of brilliant how these conversations about luxury and abundance may be “exclusive by design” on one level but on another, deeper level are totally inclusive, if only for the fact that they invite anyone in any situation to (re)value their own intangible gifts that maybe they lost sight of, but will always possess. Never change, GG!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Comedian, Actor, & Impressionist: Matt Friend – Finding Your Voice, Reading the Room, & Why Laughter Is the Last Honest Thing
Q: What do you think has changed in the industry and what are you trying to save and hold on to?
There is a shift toward more unserious, eclectic storytelling and a desire to maintain elegance and class on stage while keeping the humor accessible to a wide audience; the goal is to preserve a certain old-school vibe of comedy while embracing modern platforms.
Comedian, Actor, & Impressionist: Matt Friend – Finding Your Voice, Reading the Room, & Why Laughter Is the Last Honest Thing
Q: So that being said, would you say that the comedy is the language for you to get a message across or is it the final product? Are you trying to get laughter or a change in perspective?
Comedy is primarily a vehicle for laughter and connection, though the show includes political and social observations; the aim is broad appeal and to make people think while enjoying themselves.
Comedian, Actor, & Impressionist: Matt Friend – Finding Your Voice, Reading the Room, & Why Laughter Is the Last Honest Thing
Q: I'm very curious about this world because I'm so far from it. But when you walk onto the stage, do you know what you're going to say? Do you have a script?
I write and perform a 60-75 minute show with stories, topical observations, and impressions; I use pre-written material but also rely on crowd work and improvisation to adapt on stage.
Augustinus Bader Co-Founder & CEO: Charles Rosier – Stem Cell Science, The Cost of Conviction, & Building a Skincare Icon
Q: Could you describe the moment when the business nearly failed and what changed to keep it alive?
We were three weeks away from bankruptcy until a decisive investor, Jacques Verrat, stepped in with a 15 million euro investment after recognizing the founder's commitment and risk tolerance, transforming the trajectory of the company.
Augustinus Bader Co-Founder & CEO: Charles Rosier – Stem Cell Science, The Cost of Conviction, & Building a Skincare Icon
Q: And that's how you ended up starting the company initially?
The purpose of the company emerged from a direct connection between funding medical research and bringing a skincare product to market; the consumer product would finance the biotech work, making the brand a vehicle for research funding.
