  • Loving the tidbits of info from all the interviews!

Loving the podcast! Just recently discovered grip/armlifting in August of '25 and competed in King Kong in October and the Arnold Armlifting open a few weeks ago. Just started my gym/fitness journey January'25 after not stepping in a gym for 23 years. I'm hooked on grip and armlifting and I appreciate the podcast so much! I'm about 1/2 through all the podcasts!

The Grip Show (Episode 32) 2 Year Anniversary (ft. Joe Hodgson)
Q: What have you learned about the grip community in the last two years?
People in the grip community are very supportive and responsive to each other, and I've seen significant improvement in the technique and strength exhibited by many lifters over time.
The Grip Show (Episode 33) Tanner Merkle
Q: Are there any competitions that maybe you're eyeing in the future?
Tanner mentioned he is interested in local competitions but is less inclined to travel due to costs unless there is a significant cash prize involved.
The Grip Show (Episode 33) Tanner Merkle
Q: What was it like kind of deciding to do the Shaw Classic and training for those events?
Tanner explained that he hadn't been training for grip competitions much initially but decided to push himself for the Shaw Classic when invited, mentioning it would be fun to have a goal.
Alpha Grip Competition Results (RECAP) ft. Nate Phillips
Q: Can you break down the event lineup?
We got the Rogue Axle, 3x4 Saxon, the Rogue Anvil and then the Rolling Thunder... I wanted this to be like a midway test of my own to see where I land, you know, making weight and doing all that stuff.
