  • My Family Thanks Me

“I love grilling” and “I am good at grilling” are two different things. For years, I have white knuckled my way to decent grilling. But The Grill Coach has helped me gain confidence, up my game, and given me the insight to take my grilling game to a new level. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned (preferably dry brined) griller, this show will speak to you. And thanks to the better meals I make, my family actually wants to speak to me after dinner!

  • It’s like chatting with your friends about grilling.

I bought my first house and it happens to have a large patio that’s perfect for entertaining. What’s a better way to entertain outdoors than to grill? One problem, I’ve never grilled anything. Enter The Grill Coach. It’s educational and relaxed. Each host brings a different perspective and strength. It’s very low key but well researched. I love that they share their grilling victories and disasters. This is one of my go-to podcasts to listen to on my way to and from work. And even though the h... more

  • Love what you three are doing!!

I became a charcoal convert one year ago and have been consuming so much content about the art of grilling & BBQ (my wife thinks it's a bit over the top). What you guys provide is an excellent platform for those looking to try new things and learn as much as possible. Your presentation and flow is really tremendous and makes for an easy listen. It takes some skill for three people to share the mic and you do it really well. You succeed!! I LOVE the variety of content you deliver - keep it go... more

  • Highly Recommend

I’ve used a gas grill since I have started grilling, but these Grill Coaches have given me cooker fever (in case the wife is reading this) and inspired some Gojuchang experiments. The inspiration, advice, pro tips, and guests are great! I binged every episode after listening to it. One of the best bbq podcasts I’ve listened to! I’m excited for the global bbq episodes (the Braai episode was interesting). As someone new to bbq, this podcast is great! Some other podcasts and online groups can be in... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Motivated Outdoor Cooking with Andy
Q: What have you found most challenging about pork chops and pork tenderloins, and what temp range are you aiming for to get tender meat?
Andy discusses experimenting with temperatures around 140-165 degrees, finding that 145-150 often yields more tender results, and highlights the shift away from 165 as a one-size-fits-all target, suggesting a more nuanced approach including reverse sear and heat management.
Andrew Rog from ChefsTemp
Q: Tell us about your grilling and smoking background.
I've spent about six years in backyard grilling and smoking, inspired by a friend who urged me to start a YouTube channel; it grew during the pandemic, transforming how I view barbecue and teaching me to see this as a lifelong journey rather than a fixed skill set.
What to Grill and Smoke on the Rotisserie
Q: What is your favorite piece of chicken to cook?
Both hosts acknowledge thighs as forgiving and versatile due to their fat content, but they also celebrate wings for a more active cook and flavor-sauce compatibility, with wings offering a different kind of culinary challenge and satisfaction.
Knife Skills Needed For BBQ
Q: What are we to do with the ash that collects from our charcoal?
Let it cool completely, dump it into a paper bag for disposal, and consider storing hot ashes in a metal, airtight drum until it's safe to dispose of them; having a dedicated metal container helps prevent fires and keeps trash pickups clean.
BBQ & Diabetes with Dr. Cory Jenks
Q: Can you give our listeners some symptoms that they might experience with type 2 diabetes?
Cory explains that symptoms can include increased thirst, hunger, blurry vision, lack of energy, difficulty sleeping, and an increase in waist circumference.
