  • Machine dreams

A brilliant season in what instantly became one of my an all time favorite podcasts. As a millennial raised on X-Files and, yup, Frankenstein, I always liked sf and horror even better together than in isolation, and I feel so seen by everything— the alluring modem sounds, the family-computer-room-after-midnight reminiscences and tales of tamagotchi, the fact you even know what Virtuosity is (I have the VHS) and of course, the fact none of this is purely nostalgic, it’s actually a lot scarier rig... more

  • Living for this pod!

Finally really pleasing horror film discussion, dissection and critique and all from the viewpoint of really well versed and brilliant women. Well worth the time and LOVE the longer times of these episodes. Helps me discover some films I hadn’t heard of too, which is just fun! Can’t wait for TFG to join BlueSky so I can follow there as well!

  • First listen

I’ve heard Anna many times on History of Horror and have loved her segments. This episode was my first listen here and I was so happy to hear her interview one of my fave contemporary authors, Daisy Johnson. What an absolute treat ❤️

Here reviewing the Final Girls, we also believe all pods should be so 90s. Plus, the only horror podcast I've heard to include ace viewpoint contribution.

  • A great talk

I wanted to listen to something else rather than music at the gym for once so I looked up some film podcasts and I’m so glad I stumbled upon The Final Girls.

I played the bonus episode discussing Longlegs and it was very enjoyable. I really found myself agreeing with the points made and also how their views opened my eyes to more things about Longlegs.

I’m definitely checking out their other episodes in my own time and possibly continuing the whole podcast thing when I’m at the gym.

It represents a form of self-actualization and freedom, symbolizing the feminist struggle of defining one's identity in the face of societal constraints.
MACHINES 25 • Ex Machina (2014)

The film feels scarier now, as our understanding and interactions with AI have evolved, highlighting the complexities of human behavior towards technology.
MACHINES 24 • Prometheus (2012) + Alien: Covenant (2017)
Q: How do you think this is a good adaptation of Mary Shelley's ideas?
