  • Europe from a Davos perspective

Should call themselves Europe from a World Economic Forum perspective. They seem to have locked themselves inside a box where they can only see the leftist Elites’ perspective. Since Trump does not fit in their little box they have a problem.

  • Brilliant and informative!

As a Dane it is invaluable to me to get an American perspective on Europe, especially since that coverage is completely missing from the danish media which almost solely uses a Danish or EU perspective. Thank you :-)

  • Great podcast about European politics

As a European (French) I’ve always been amazed at how little my American friends know about European politics (not to even mention the EU). This podcast does a fantastic job at explaining in a clear and enjoyable fashion what is happening on the other side of the Atlantic and why it matters for the folks here. Their account of the political gridlocks in my home country were spot on. Donatienne and Max are great hosts and some of the conversations they have in the interview segment are fascinatin... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Previewing Hungary’s Election: Will Orbán Be Defeated?
Q: But can you tell us why it's portrayed that way? And why is it such an important election?
The election is seen as crucial because Orbán has been a long-standing symbol of illiberalism, and a defeat would carry symbolic weight, signaling possible changes in Hungary and affecting EU unanimity on foreign policy issues.
Incumbents Emerge Bruised from Elections and Europe’s Place in the World with Nathalie Tocci
Q: How should the EU navigate its institutional balance between the Commission and the European External Action Service in relation to foreign policy?
There is a recognition that Europe's foreign policy is inherently intergovernmental, with the High Representative and the Commission playing different roles; this balance shapes how Europe speaks with a single voice versus a layered, member-state-led approach.
Incumbents Emerge Bruised from Elections and Europe’s Place in the World with Nathalie Tocci
Q: What does the rise of the far right mean for European foreign policy and the EU's ability to present a united front?
The far right has evolved into a more sophisticated, internal influence that pressures centrist leaders to appease voters, while some center-right factions push for a disintegration agenda under the guise of simplification.
Incumbents Emerge Bruised from Elections and Europe’s Place in the World with Nathalie Tocci
Q: There's a war on Iran that is not perhaps going exactly to plan, how is this war being seen from a European perspective?
European leaders view Trump's threats as part of a pattern; some threats are viewed as empty, while the more actionable moves are still debated, with Europeans seeking dignity and independence in thought amid US pressure.
Competitiveness, Climate, and Transatlantic Tensions feat. Teresa Ribera
Q: How did your visit to California and engagement with tech leaders shape EU views on tech sovereignty and digital regulation, particularly regarding the Digital Services Act?
The trip reinforced the importance of human-centered progress, showed how the EU and US can align on safeguarding competition while fostering innovation, and underscored the need for clear regulatory expectations that enable both European and American companies to operate with predictability in digital markets.
