Reviews

4.8 out of 5 stars from 129 ratings
  • Stars in the Making

There is a translated hymn from German that starts out “who are these like stars appearing?” Susan and Karen are among those stars. Serving day and night, wrestling on ‘til life ends. The silliness is appropriate as these two sisters move through grief and sorrow; clumsiness and being derided. The goal is to be with Jesus who is aware that coming to him is coming to the King of love.

I am so grateful for the enCourage podcast. Not only does it equip me with good, gospel material to share with the women in my church, it equips me for daily engaging with God over my own personal concerns and issues. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Uncommon Sense: Potluck Questions
Q: What is one theological truth that has changed your everyday life?
Both speakers highlight that God sees every tear and is intimately present, turning pain into a reminder that He cares and works through suffering; they point to Psalm 56:3 and 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 as anchors for daily trust in God's unseen work.
Uncommon Sense- Questions about Friendships Among Women
Q: How do you build deeper relationships in women's ministry without it becoming click-ish?
Be very intentional about cross-generational and cross-need pairing, create small, relational opportunities, and avoid assuming shared affinities will automatically lead to inclusion; instead, invite and welcome the unfamiliar and practice sit-with-them hospitality.
Uncommon Sense: Questions about Intergenerational Discipleship
Q: How can we best use that season to intentionally disciple younger women in the church without coming across as overbearing or out of touch?
The approach should be built on humility and listening, creating opportunities through shared activities rather than lectures, and partnering with the younger generation to understand their needs and communication styles. Start with small, approachable steps, such as asking a youth director for senior graduates to celebrate and invest in, and build from there with trust and mutual accountability.
Just Because It's Trending Doesn't Make It True- "God Never Gives You More Than You Can Handle"
Q: Is there a passage of scripture or something that buoys your heart or encourages you when you find yourself at the end of the rope?
Yes, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 speaks about God's grace being sufficient and how His power is made perfect in weakness.
Just Because It's Trending Doesn't Make It True- "You Do You"
Q: If you and I believed that this was true, how do you think it would change your week this week?
Approaching the week with a mindset that it's not about personal reputation or success, but rather doing everything to the glory of God can alleviate pressure and allow for more joy and relaxation.
