Hi! I came across this podcast as I was praying for wisdom with a certain relationship with a brother in Christ. It’s been such a painful one the past 8 years, and I was finally at the point where I was ready to cut it off. A sister in Christ helped me rethink my motives. “How do you love Christ and love him as a brother in Christ in this?”. I was mad at the question. I started listing off all the reasons why I should cut him off. She sat there in silence listening to me. The more I talked the m... more

  • Trauma

Thank you for the sermon on trauma by Ed. It was so true and understanding. I’ve gone through a lot of trauma in my life. As a child, I was sexually abused by my father, which I know has filled me with fear of people. But the worst trauma to happen to my family and me was the death of my grandsons. They died 10 years apart. My mother died, my husband had a stroke and my beloved nephew died. My granddaughter has OCD and never been to school and can’t work.

God has helped us all tremendously thr... more

  • My comfort podcast!

Thank you for always pointing me to gospel truth and encouraging me in Jesus! As I serve on the field in the Middle East and do not have access to good Christian community or a local church to fill me up spiritually, I cannot even explain how meaningful and helpful your podcast has been to me. It’s not only practically helpful, but it always centers me back on Jesus and the beauty of His nearness and promises. I need the reminder. Thank you!

The Personal God Gets Personal with Us
Q: How did these distinctives come about as you look back on their genesis?
They emerged from a desire to prioritize certain themes in ministry after recognizing how similar doctrinal statements can be across churches; the aim was to highlight the features that uniquely characterize CCEF's approach to biblical counseling and its integration with church life.
Unity in Marriage: Lessons from Philippians (Part 2)
Q: What practical steps can a couple take to cultivate this imitation and unity in their own marriage?
Cultivate long-term mentoring relationships within the church, surround yourself with diverse, mature couples, and deliberately spend time observing and asking questions about how they handle conflict, burdens, and day-to-day decisions.
Unity in Marriage: Lessons from Philippians (Part 2)
Q: And can you talk a little bit about like where he turns and why that may be important and we can spend some time unpacking that?
Paul turns to imitation—calling believers to look to Christ and to fellow believers who live out a Christ-centered unity, using Timothy and Epaphroditus as concrete examples to imitate in everyday life and conflict.
Finding Faith When God Seems Silent
Q: What might God be doing in these kinds of situations where He seems so distant or He seems silent?
He uses these experiences to increase our trust and shape our character, but we may not always see immediate purpose.
Finding Faith When God Seems Silent
Q: How does it change what we think about who the Lord is when we haven't heard from Him?
We often interpret it as a sign that He doesn't care or that we've done something wrong.
