Eventful Trip last Friday. Spring is here. Schools will kick off in a couple weeks or so. Water has gotten muddy and the wind is gonna blow!
Have you noticed that strong SE and SW wind blowing this week? That's one of our signals that Spring is here. We'll look at what to expect in the coming weeks.
It's that time of year again where we see all our buddies and spend all our money in one place. Jacob joins us this week to talk about the behind the scenes of the Houston Fishing Show.
I broke the 40" mark and landed a fat bull in the shallows on a crab fly I tied the night before. What a feeling! Listen in as I tell the story and talk about the current water conditions.

Matt is an exceptional communicator. He is able to describe scenarios that are almost like being in the skiff with him. His detailed explanation of factors influencing fish behavior help you find fish on your own. My catch to trip ratio has gone up considerably following his advice. He generously shares his hard earned experience to the point of even answering questions via email.
Really love the Empty Stingers podcast! Matt does an awesome job sharing about what fishing for redfish on the Tx Coast is all about. The content is informational and has made me a better angler. He also brings a lighthearted and natural approach to taking about fish. Highly recommend!
I didn’t realize this is a religious podcast. I tuned in to listen to someone discuss inshore fishing, not religious silliness. if I wanted to hear church talk…I would go to church. There are much better podcasts that have a much less monotone host and don’t have a verse from a fiction book at the end.
Great show, Matthew gets out on the water in his area and shares what he is seeing with his listeners about what’s happening in the marsh as well as insights into trends and philosophies about Redfish and teaches what he’s learning on his adventures. All in all, a great listen and constant update making a Redfish fishing show for Redfish fisherman, not to mention, just a stand-up and honest dude. Give it a listen, and be part of a small but great community. Thank you Matthew!
I met Matt at the Matagorda Island trip with the Salty Yak Podcast. He is a great fisherman and crazy about everything redfish. I paddled 9 miles to the island and next year i peddled. Matt decided to get a boat 😂. I really do enjoy listening to podcast and his views of what the redfish are up to, when and where to catch this dumb fish. Even Chris know Trout are better than dumb Reds. See ya at the island.
