  • Enjoy!

Enjoy many of these but bummed to see so many subscriber episodes this year and not a one for the general feed. I know you have to make your living and get paid for your work! But while I’m on maternity leave podcast subscriptions aren’t feasible while just paying the bills doesn’t happen each month. Would love a little more love for us non-subscribers (who could one day decide to subscribe too! And who would definitely shop your stores).

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 298: Building a Sewing Business with Sydney Graham
Q: What advice would you give indie pattern designers about launching and growing patterns?
Treat launches as starting points, keep creating content around the pattern, explore multiple versions and hacks, and don't expect instant viral success—growth often comes through gradual, sustained engagement.
Episode 298: Building a Sewing Business with Sydney Graham
Q: What caused the burnout in your first business and how did that shape your current approach?
The burnout came from doing everything myself for years, which was unsustainable. It pushed me to seek roles in larger teams and later create a structure that allows for delegation, balance, and scalable content for patterns.
Episode 298: Building a Sewing Business with Sydney Graham
Q: How did you learn to turn your first sewing business into a sustainable path forward?
I learned to be fearless about trying new things, leverage support from mentors, and steadily apply lessons from my early ventures to build a healthier pattern-based business with ongoing content around launches.
Episode 295: Inuit Sewing Traditions with Laura Pia Churchill
Q: How would you describe the climate in Nunavut?
It's really cold in winter, and you have to dress warm to stay comfortable.
Episode 295: Inuit Sewing Traditions with Laura Pia Churchill
Q: Can you tell us how and when you learned to sew?
I learned to sew at around eight years old at my grandparents' cabin, making my first pair of mitts.
