  • Incredible Show

As someone who just got into sewing over the last year, the Seamwork Radio podcast has been extremely educational for me. I wholeheartedly recommend this podcast to both new and established sewists. My question/icebreaker for Sarai and Haley is: What advice would you give to men who are interested in getting into sewing garments? It can be hard when so much of the sewing content, patterns etc that are out there are geared towards women.

  • My new favorite podcast to walk to

I’m relatively new to sewing, and have started listening to the Seamwork episodes during my daily walks, and it’s become my new go-to podcast! Lots of episodes offer great tips (I just sewed my first knit garment this past weekend and listening to their sewing with knits tips episode was so helpful in my prep). I especially love the seasonal round-ups where the hosts share their sewing plans for the upcoming season. It helps give me inspiration for my own sewing plans. Excited to listen each wee... more

  • This is the best sewing podcast!

I look forward to my Monday morning drive to work and the seamwork podcast theme song starts my week off right!

The formula of this show, every show, is perfect for me. I hear the problem, the hosts personal experiences, and then the tips. It’s so helpful and even as a very experienced sewer I learn something new every week. Whether it’s a new notion, a new book or some organization tips it’s always a valuable tip.

  • The Most Helpful Reference Manual for Sewing You Will Ever Find!

As an advanced beginner, I have learned (and retained) more about sewing in the month I have been a member of Seamwork than I taught myself in an entire year! The patterns are amazing, I have made 5 of their pieces so far and each one has been more informative than any commercial sewing pattern. The podcast, lessons, community…. Everything has made sewing more fun and rewarding. I am soooo grateful I found this amazing resource.

I have an icebreaker- not sure if this has been asked before. But ... more

Listener Q&A: Your Summer Sewing Questions Answered
Q: How many projects should I realistically plan for a season?
Plan fewer projects than you think you can handle; aim for three to five, mix in one or two challenging items with easier ones, and adapt mid-season as needed to avoid feeling like a failure.
Listener Q&A: Your Summer Sewing Questions Answered
Q: I'm halfway through a dress and it's not turning out as hoped. Should I push through or scrap it?
Acknowledge the 'ugly phase' as normal; press everything, diagnose whether the issue is fit, fabric, or style, and decide whether adjustments or finishing can salvage it; momentum matters.
Listener Q&A: Your Summer Sewing Questions Answered
Q: How do you stay focused on a seasonal plan with constant new pattern releases?
Treat new releases as flexible additions to a running 'next season' list; use mood boards and a plan as a tool, allowing wildcard entries without abandoning the plan.
Listener Q&A: Your Summer Sewing Questions Answered
Q: How do I pick the right fabric weight for hot weather?
Explain the importance of fiber and weave, favor natural fibers for breathability, and consider weave density and weight; test by holding fabric to light to gauge openness of weave and potential for cooling.
Spring Sewing Roundup: What We're Making, Trying, and Loving
Q: What do you do with garments you don't really like after you finish them?
We acknowledge it's natural to have some pieces that don't work, then propose options like gifting to a friend, reworking the item, cutting it up for scrap or quilts, or simply letting it go through a staged process so you don't feel wasteful while keeping the door open for future ideas.
