A week later with the advice of Abby and her VERY knowledgeable guests I have completely cleared his scalp discomfort (he was to the point of nonstop scratching his head and his face was becoming red and inflamed). Additionally his eczema has cleared up immensely and he’s f... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How Hydrocolloid Bandages Support Healing with Mind The Skin - S7E25
Q: Is the product safe for children and can it be used around sensitive areas like the eyes or mouth?
The patches are pediatrician approved and designed to be adaptable (cutting patches to fit small or sensitive areas), with guidance to avoid really damaged or oozing skin and to consult a clinician if there are signs of infection or significant breakdown.
How Hydrocolloid Bandages Support Healing with Mind The Skin - S7E25
Q: How is the Mind the Skin system different from typical acne patches, and why is it thicker or larger for eczema?
The system is specifically tailored for flare-prone skin, incorporating a thicker patch with multiple actives to handle higher exudate during flares, improve adhesion in longer wear, and cover larger surface areas relevant to eczema flares, unlike most acne patches that are thinner and smaller.
How Hydrocolloid Bandages Support Healing with Mind The Skin - S7E25
Q: Can you walk us through what actually happens on the skin when someone applies a hydrocolloid patch?
When a patch is applied, actives in the patch begin to work within six to eight hours, penetrating the targeted flare areas and creating a moist, controlled environment that supports healing while protecting the skin from external factors; it also helps reduce itch and redness and is designed to be worn for several hours depending on the stage.
The Hidden Irritants in Your "Clean" Bedding - S7E21
Q: How does indigo dye perform in terms of antibacterial properties compared to conventional treatments like silver?
Indigo dye in studies appears to actively kill bacteria on textiles, potentially reducing odor and bacterial load more effectively than silver in some tests, while also avoiding the negative side effects associated with silver.
The Hidden Irritants in Your "Clean" Bedding - S7E21
Q: What exactly makes plant-dyed bedding different from other bedding on the market?
Plant dyes are used instead of petrochemical-based synthetic colors, reducing chemical irritation for sensitive skin, and there is evidence showing the dye itself can be the main irritant in textiles; plant dyes also tend to be more environmentally friendly and, in some cases, may confer antibacterial benefits.
