  • Good for keeping up with audio and video tech trends

Good podcast for keeping up with the latest audio and video gear and industry trends. They seem to favor the higher end stuff like million dollar home theaters and $100K speakers, but do also feature more affordable real world gear. Particularly good at explaining all the audio and video tech and buzzwords. Keep it up, guys!

Movie Sound Design & Mixing with SVS Subwoofers: Matt Yocum on Bass Clarity and LFE Mastering
Q: What does the current setup look like in your studio and how has it evolved?
Matt explains upgrading from a single large sub to dual SB 5000s for a more even low-end response, reducing room-induced peaks and widening the listening sweet spot.
Audeze and Prosper Cables at AXPONA 2026: Two Conversations from the Show Floor
Q: How is the driver film manufactured and what makes it special?
The driver film is ultra-thin, with a voice coil etched into it, and it is stretched across a housing; this delicate process requires careful handling to maintain the film's pliability and performance, enabling the unique sound characteristics of Audeze headphones.
Audeze and Prosper Cables at AXPONA 2026: Two Conversations from the Show Floor
Q: What is SlamTech and why was it added to the driver assembly?
SlamTech was inserted as a spacer to give the driver more room to fluctuate, which reduces the risk of overstretching the thin film and ultimately improves bass response and overall sound quality.

Q: Talk to us about the setup and what the app offers.
The app provides granular control for tuning, including low-pass filter, polarity, phase, room gain, and especially parametric EQs to smooth peaks and nulls for a better listening experience. It stays stable, saves settings, and supports over-the-air updates for ongoing improvements.
