I was helping my wife through eating disorder behaviors 5 years ago and was feeling a lot of hopelessness and despair. I had no idea if she’d recover or not. There was one episode I listened to where a couple with the wife in recovery was interviewed, and I hung on every word they said. Change seemed such an impossibility, but it was extremely comforting to hear that anybody could escape from this toxic, horrifying world of body image distortion and “thinspo” etc. I held onto their story a lot.... more
