Priscilla is smart, wise and incredibly helpful. I’m able to learn something new in a short amount of time with each episode and apply it directly to my life, whether it be my career or just a perspective shift. Thank you for sharing your knowledge through such a great listen!
There are so many great topics and guests. Thank you Priscilla!
I came across Priscilla’s podcast because she interviewed a coworker who shared the podcast episode on LinkedIn. After that I was hooked! Please keep it up, the career advice is invaluable. Can’t wait for season 4!
I work at a big ten university and have integrated the ECM podcast into the curriculum for a career planning class. Priscilla has great guests and easy to implement advice that resonates with young professionals about to enter the workforce. Great podcast!
Priscilla helped me get into the right headspace when deciding to make a career change. She gives tactical advice for every stage of this process. Invaluable!
On the Early Career Moves podcast, Priscilla does an excellent job explaining the research or theory behind big ideas that she talks about. She easily weaves in research and theory with her own personal experience and challenges us listeners to do the same. She invites you to be introspective, not in a judgmental way but a “how do I use this knowledge to further my career and make myself more effective at work” way. Her guests are interesting and from diverse backgrounds and they give great insi... more
As a Latina, I found this podcast to be very inspirational while offering helpful advice for anyone starting out in their career! The host asks great questions and has guests from diverse backgrounds and career paths! I’m so happy to know that there’s a resource like Early Career Moves offering guidance to young professionals of color!
Loved the lessons and advice (take-aways) shared in this blog. Priscilla makes a compelling case for folks to use their voice, and intentionally celebrating wins and accomplishments! This is relevant and applicable for folks who want to thrive and survive in our current world.
I’ve loved listening to the stories shared by Priscilla and her guests on this podcast. Each one reflects such a unique path and set of experiences. Grateful for this space that is elevating BIPOC voices and is celebrating what is so often the non-linearity of building a fulfilling career. I’m looking forward to what comes next in this project!
Absolutely loved this podcast! It was so inspiring to hear from incredible people who had such amazing and diverse career paths. Priscilla is an excellent host and provides a great platform to amplify the voices of BIPOC folks whose journeys will undoubtedly inspire the next generation of leaders. Excited to listen to more episodes and take in the wisdom of all the amazing guests!
The conversation really hit home for me, as I come from a family of immigrants who had differing aspirations for me than the one I had for myself. It makes me smug, for selfish reasons, to hear Sharlina’s narrative of her successes. Despite the obstacles (mostly her standing in her own way), she stuck it through and proved it to be a worthy venture for herself. This story arc makes me realise that what I felt and still feel - a mixed sense of pride and relief - is not an isolated incident. Where... more
Priscilla is such a great host and is connected to and interviews people with such inspiring journeys. I know these anecdotes and strategies are provided by and geared to BIPOC folks, but the advice provided by these high powered individuals are useful for anyone who is trying to succeed in business and life. Keep up the great work!
As a young POC navigating the career world, I was delighted to find The Early Career Moves podcast. Stepping onto the career path can be exhilarating but also extremely intimidating. Listening to Pricilla’s conversations with a diverse mix of young professionals is inspiring and reassuring. There is no correct cookie cutter pattern for life; everyone makes their own journey and can thrive.
I love the idea of a one stop shop for advice you don’t usually get about how to know your worth, and make sure your job knows it too. This podcast has been incredibly useful as I look for a job and consider what comes next after grad school. Great for early career professionals or anyone looking for a change. I highly recommend, and even shared with my network of 2000 graduate students!
I appreciate Cecilia Harvey’s comments about not waiting for someone to tell you what you’re worth, finding alignment in your personal and professional life, and creating opportunities in episode 25.
