  • Like not love

The selection and diversity of guests are amazing. They are knowledgeable, and provide practical approaches to important subjects within our field, and that’s the primary reason I keep coming back to this podcast. However, I find because of his interview style, it takes away from the quality and content given by the guests. I notice Eli cuts off the guests frequently, and has a tendency to shift the conversation back to himself or his experiences, rather letting the guest share/finish their tho... more

Whether through therapy sessions, podcast dialogue, or his writing, Eli’s mission is the same: to make mental health relatable, accessible, and actionable, empowering people to build lives of connection, courage, and meaning. Eli is a fantastic teacher. Do yourself a favor and listen in (but only if you want to be happier and more successful!).

  • Love the style

The style of the podcast makes it easy to relate and follow the message. Eli does a good job of getting involved as opposed to just being a host and looking for ways to get his guests to talk. I’ve enjoyed and learned from every episode I’ve listened to.

F the Fairytale: Chemistry vs Curiosity, Soulmates, and Intentional Dating | Dude Therapist w/ Damona Hoffman
Q: How can someone maintain their own life and friendships while dating seriously?
Maintain your own community and interests so your relationship is additive rather than consuming all of your life; interdependence, not codependence, helps both partners grow and stay connected to their individual identities.
F the Fairytale: Chemistry vs Curiosity, Soulmates, and Intentional Dating | Dude Therapist w/ Damona Hoffman
Q: Is there really a single soulmate, or can there be many good matches?
There is not just one soulmate; many people can be deeply compatible and worthy partners, and relationships can become soulmates over time through growth, commitment, and shared experiences.
F the Fairytale: Chemistry vs Curiosity, Soulmates, and Intentional Dating | Dude Therapist w/ Damona Hoffman
Q: How should people approach dating with intention to avoid endless misalignment?
Identify the three must-haves, understand how those map onto shared values and goals, and then assess compatibility through a broader view of lifestyle, routines, and community support rather than chasing perfect chemistry on first dates.
F the Fairytale: Chemistry vs Curiosity, Soulmates, and Intentional Dating | Dude Therapist w/ Damona Hoffman
Q: What is the core myth of fairy tales that affects dating today?
The myth is that love should happen easily and naturally, and if it doesn't, something is wrong with you; real relationship success comes from intention, clarity, and working to build a life with someone who shares your goals and values.
The Power of Next feat. Alyson Stoner
Q: How did saying next influence your ability to cope with rejection in your industry?
It started as a helpful mindset to not let a single setback define worth, but over time she learned to acknowledge the immediate emotional impact and then zoom out to the bigger picture for resilience.
