  • Commuter Friendly

Diary of a CFO is one of the few finance podcasts that feels both insightful and refreshingly human. Wassia Kamon brings the perfect balance of strategy, vulnerability, and sharp questioning to every episode. As a fellow finance leader, I appreciate the candor, the diverse perspectives, and the real-talk about what it actually takes to lead from the C-suite.

  • A Voice for the Highly Impactful but grossly underrepresented

This is truly a special and one-of-a-kind podcast. The idea to discuss the challenges that CFO’s face from all company types, and sizes is very futuristic, forward thinking and innovative. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation with Wassia, and the questions were very thought-provoking and I think are what the audience needs to hear, to share ideas and provide mentorship as well. Absolutely stellar and I would welcome the chance for additional conversations like these!

Excel vs FP&A Software: When to Make the Switch (with Paul Barnhurst)
Q: What three phases do you recommend for selecting and implementing an FP&A tool?
First, narrow down the market by researching and mapping tools that fit your company size and industry. Second, conduct a proper selection with an RFP to compare requirements rather than flashy features. Third, secure the right implementation partner and invest time and resources in data preparation and requirements documentation to ensure a successful rollout.
Excel vs FP&A Software: When to Make the Switch (with Paul Barnhurst)
Q: Where should Excel remain the hero and where does it become a liability in FP&A?
Excel will stay foundational for flexibility and edge cases, but as data volume, privacy, and integration needs grow, there's a tipping point where a dedicated FP&A tool becomes necessary to support auditability, collaboration, and speed. The right move is to use Excel in tandem with a tool when the payoffs of a database and structured modeling outweigh the added complexity.
