  • Just goofing with you,

Did you just say a “game” of jiu jitsu? lol ….1. it’s not a game. It’s an art. People train years and dedicate their lives to that life. They are their own weapon.. And 2. Please don’t disrespect the martial art by even mentioning his name in the sport. Not a good metaphor. Dude would get smashed by a 12 yr old.

  • Disappointing

I’ve been listening to you all for a while now and I had hoped you would be more steadfast in your support of the victims from the Epstein Files. Having Jim Jordan on for an extended interview to cover his and Bondi’s butts after that horror show of a hearing is just sincerely disappointing.

  • Finally someone talks about Johnson’s “woman” problem

This has been the case since he forced out Cathy McMorris-Rogers by refusing to pass her signature legislation. He’s undermined women in leadership right and left. No body is reporting on this and Republican women are likely only to speak off-the-record.

  • Phish, GW Basketball, and more!

I always start my morning by listening to Jake and Anna. They’re funny and insightful. No better source for updates on GW basketball and the latest Phsih tour. Oh, and sometimes they talk Congress too (and they know their stuff!). Keep up the great work guys!! I know it’s not easy doing this at 5 AM every day!

  • Misses many insider points

This podcast is 100% left leaning so it is good to hear the Democrat strategies when the host “debates” a Republican rather than interview him that tells it all. mention Schumer's gamble of assigning Chris Murphy to “negotiate” with Republicans and to NOT mention that Chris Murphy is a radical anti-gun and pro-confiscation advocate is terribly misleading and leaves the audience with the wrong impression that the Dems are actually trying to get an agreement. Then you focus on the right who used... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Readback: Blanche’s confirmation battle
Q: What is going on in this story?
The two holdout senators, Cornyn and Tillis, are demanding binding concessions—specifically killing the anti-weaponization fund and limiting the Trump audit immunity deal—before Blanche can be confirmed, with Cornyn taking the lead based on his judicial background and relationships within the party.
Fly Out Day: Super PAC leader Alex Latcham talks Republicans’ $400 million campaign war chest
Q: How do you view the impact of new coordination rules on SLF and related groups?
Coordination limits being loosened could reduce the reliance on pure candidate-focused super PACs and allow more efficient fundraising through parties, but our core approach with SLF remains to deploy large, coordinated resources in the most impactful way in key battlegrounds.
Fly Out Day: Super PAC leader Alex Latcham talks Republicans’ $400 million campaign war chest
Q: What are your top priorities when assessing the competitive landscape?
Our priorities are to preserve and expand the Senate majority by targeting races where we have a reasonable expectation of moving the numbers, dedicating resources only where we can win, and staying nimble to address new opportunities as they arise.
Trump's new Iran problem on the Hill
Q: What is the immediate political risk for Republicans on Iran policy on the Hill?
The hosts ask the guest to assess how the administration's approach and the prospect of further War Powers votes will pressure Hill Republicans to take a stance, potentially affecting their reelection prospects and the party's unity.
Readback: A campaign-finance earthquake
Q: Ally, what did the Supreme Court say this week?
The Court erased the distinction between campaign committees and party committees, allowing coordinated activity and significantly reducing the cost of buying TV ads for committees, which could benefit Republicans more in the current landscape.
