  • Superficial, vapid

Highly unimpressed. Dasha talks without saying much of anything. Pretty standard value-free journalism that focuses on power, money, and optics. Not committed to truth, but rather to a vague, nonpartisan notion of ‘neutrality.’

  • Balanced if not fair

The "on the other handism" is palpable, as is the apparent requirement for Maya Ward not to speak too frankly about the Trump

administration--perhaps so as not to burn White House sources. This is a service to sources, not readers, and the means are a disservice to the ends. I'm unfollowing the podcast.

  • Government biased news

Democrats need to stop being Socialists.

If it’s good for Democrats, they report it.

If it’s bad for Democrats, they ignore it.

If they can’t ignore it, they report how badly the Republicans reacted to the story.

  • Downhill

This podcast has gone downhill so fast - unfortunately due in part to its hosts, their ridiculous banter and the superficial analysis. It used to be a most listen. Not anymore.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Thune is in the hot seat
Q: What are you hearing from Thune and Senate Republicans about moving this budget resolution before the recess?
There is no definitive yes or no yet; Thune has not committed to bringing the reconciliation package to the floor, and many Republicans expect a lot of talk without immediate movement before the August recess, as concerns over pay-fors and amendments persist.
White House Correspondents’ Dinner 2.0
Q: Adam, how are you feeling about it?
Adam describes being fascinated by the expected dynamics at the dinner, noting the shift from a celebratory mood to a more tense atmosphere due to subpoenas and security concerns.
Why NATO’s chief thinks Trump was right (with Mark Rutte) | The Conversation
Q: What are the main outcomes of the summit regarding defense spending?
Rutte describes a credible, phased path to 5% of GDP by 2035, with multiple allies already signaling increases and Germany moving toward higher spending; the alliance is focusing on sustainable growth rather than a one-year spike.
Can AI solve the problems it creates? (with David Sacks) | The Conversation
Q: How does Sacks view liability and accountability for AI misuse or harms?
Liability should be thoughtful and evidence-based, focusing on specific harms and causation rather than blanket liability for developers; companies should not be the sole scapegoats for end-user wrongdoing.
Can AI solve the problems it creates? (with David Sacks) | The Conversation
Q: Why is the 'let them cook' philosophy central to Sacks's approach to AI policy?
It emphasizes keeping the United States' AI ecosystem forward-leaning and competitive through private-sector leadership, while balancing safety through sensible, focused regulations.
