  • Jamie’s gets stuck in

Finally listening to Jamie get into an MP about there double speak and nonsense(14/10/22). There pushing tax hikes while claiming to be on the side of farmers. Good on you and do it some more! ‘30% reduction in co2/kg red meat since 1990’ MP ‘don’t care we want $$$$!’

DairyNZ Update: Mark Storey Head of Economics DairyNZ
Q: What impact could the Fonterra capital payment have on investment options for farmers?
The capital payment provides a cash buffer that could be used for debt repayment, new capital expenditures, or diversification of risk, influencing investment choices over the next 12-18 months.
DairyNZ Update: Mark Storey Head of Economics DairyNZ
Q: What does the latest quarterly update indicate for farmers?
It indicates a strong season with a projected surplus for the average farm, driven by a higher average payout and a favorable break-even price, while also noting the ongoing impact of capital payments on cash flow.
DairyNZ Update: Mark Storey Head of Economics DairyNZ
Q: How are the forecasts determined and how do they differ from Fonterra's forecasts?
We forecast both revenue and expenses to determine farmers' financial positions, using an average payout received as a proxy for revenue, which is related to but not identical to the farm gate milk price; revisions are made when major changes occur, such as shifts in Fonterra's price projections.

Q: What exactly is facial eczema, and why is it such a serious issue for grazing livestock?
