Ec won’t sell you on a stupid supplement or a quick fix, she will give you the facts, without BS and in the easiest applicable way possible. It’s so refreshing to finally have someone talk about nutrition without falling for the herd mentality of click bait nonsense statements!

  • Logic and clarity in nutrition!

Happy to have found this pod - EC is articulate and offers loads of factual information. The interview format is effective and efficient! Don’t expect to hear long preambles and chit chat. They jump right in and tackle topics from cancer to bananas. All they are missing is a theme song by that guy from Islands.

Five Minute Answers: Yuka App, APOE4, & Herbalife Protein Shakes
Q: How can listeners submit questions for future Quick Bytes episodes?
Listeners can reply to the email asking for questions, or subscribe to opti...nutrition.com/email to join the queue.
Five Minute Answers: Yuka App, APOE4, & Herbalife Protein Shakes
Q: What about creatine and hydration—how should someone think about water intake when using creatine?
Hydration should be guided by thirst and urine color (pale yellow), not a fixed rule based on body weight or creatine dose; creatine can cause initial water retention, but long-term dehydration risk is not typically increased when hydration is monitored by urine color.
Five Minute Answers: Yuka App, APOE4, & Herbalife Protein Shakes
Q: What about Herbalife shakes—have you looked at their products and could they fit into a healthy diet?
Herbalife can fit within protein and calorie targets if it aligns with a mostly whole-food diet, but be mindful of the MLM model and marketing claims; the nutrition foundation matters more than the brand claims, and overall protein/calorie balance remains the key.
Five Minute Answers: Yuka App, APOE4, & Herbalife Protein Shakes
Q: What are your thoughts on the Yuka App, and have you included it in any reviews?
The app scores foods on nutrition, additives, and organic status, but it misses the bigger picture that diet health is about overall pattern, total calories, and nutrient density across all foods eaten in a day; swapping one product for a higher-scored option does not necessarily translate into meaningful health changes.
Five Minute Answers: Yuka App, APOE4, & Herbalife Protein Shakes
Q: Isn't a part of Ozempic that it reduces food noise so that people eat way less than normal? If people use it for life, isn't there a concern that they will continue to lose weight past the point of what is actually healthy for them?
Evidence suggests actual caloric intake among GLP-1 users is higher than anecdotal reports imply, with typical self-reported intakes around 1,700-1,900 calories for women and men, though underreporting is common; the concern about ongoing unhealthy weight loss is mitigated by monitoring overall health and adjusting intake or treatment as needed, while emphasizing nutrient-dense choices and fiber.
