  • Good content but not smooth facilitation

I listen to this episode about milkshake and the host interrupts the guest. I understand the host’s enthusiasm to teach but it was not smooth facilitation in a podcast.

  • Concise, speaking the truth, helping to uncover what we don’t know

I love the work of this team. They have a profound knowledge of product design and main pitfalls.

Each episode open up new perspective helping me to know what I don’t know. I am a long time practitioner of jobs to be done and convince that the demand side first approach is the only way to innovate. Thank you 🙏

  • Excellent

This podcast is a practice, as Seth Godin describes. Sometimes we take a word or its meaning for granted and waste the opportunity to understand what the person really mean in that context. The episodes help create and reinforce the habit of digging deeper and asking more questions to clarify the meaning, not only for our benefit, but as other people are also figuring out what they mean on the spot, this practice will benefit them as well.

    Thanks Bob and Greg.

  • If you want to build stuff that matter…you need to listen.

If you want to continue to grow, make a meaningful impact and figure out how to really solve problems for consumers…this podcast is a must listen. There are experts who talk at you and there are “experts” that teach you how, Bob and Greg don’t talk at you but help you determine how to think about or see different solutions. If you want to challenge yourself to consider different perspectives, there’s no better place to start than here.

  • A Fireside chat meets Jobs theory workshop

It’s fun hearing old friends chat about things they’re passionate about. Because of who Greg and Bob are this is on another level. If you’ve never heard of JTBD pick up Competing Against Luck. Spoiler alert, I’ve paid thousands to hear Bob and Greg chat, and now you can listen and learn for free 😂

Seriously, these are two of the most generous teachers. They embody the outsized generosity of Clayton Christensen, and for those in the know, that’s a compliment of the highest order.

  • The greatest insights from the greatest minds. How to kill at product development

Bob is incredible. I could listen to him all day. Amazing cohost Greg to help to translate the genius from Bobs brain that is just so incredible.

I can’t believe they are giving this away for free.

Everyone running a business should use these methodologies to really accelerate and succeed as best as possible.

  • Always something to learn, always fun to learn it!

I could listen to Bob and Greg talk (debate, argue, explore, unpack, and illuminate) about any topic and it would be worth the time. But when you put them into their area of deep expertise…well…there are no two more insightful people in the world that I can think of in this space. By the way, I’m not a shill. I have brought Bob and Greg into work on a number of occasions and blew my clients’ minds. Now you can benefit from their thinking for free. Just do it!

  • Thought-provoking insights to challenge your way of thinking and talking

Great stuff. Two comments: 1) I find the opening 10 or so seconds of each episode to throw me off. I understand that it’s just previewing a section of the episode before going into the opening jingle for the podcast, but each time if I feel like I’m in the middle of an episode before I realize what’s going on. I wonder if that can change slightly with music or some sort of cue to make it clear that this is the beginning of a new episode. 2) it is clear to me that the word “unpack” is one of the ... more

  • Worth It

Business podcasts usually don’t teach you how to apply concepts to what you’re specifically doing.

This show gives you the language you need to actually apply the concepts.

There is enough specificity in this show to make it worth the listen.

  • Relevant for anyone tasked with growing demand for/adoption of a product.

Just finished listening to episode 2: The Secret Language Of "Bob-isms,” in which Bob and Greg discuss that your product isn't usually the sandwich (which you might think it is). Instead, your product is probably the mustard *inside* the sandwich of what your customer is focused on. This analogy comes at a perfect time: I’m working with a client right now who’s still convinced their product is the sandwich, and this episode has given me language to help them think differently about how they fit ... more
