Richard Johnstone has a very soothing voice that feels comforting. While certainly spanning a full range of emotions here, I find that even in the exciting passages, the voice feels like a warm hug round about the ears. It’s great bedtime listening for all ages.

I haven’t finished the series, so I hope I don’t end up regretting this review, but unless something goes very sideways, which I’m confident it won’t, I think this is such a well-made story to listen to at Christmas time! Or if you’re just feeling Xmasy at other times of year.
