  • By far the best poker podcast out there.

Great guests with really interesting interviews. Also top strategy content with different guests talking through hands every episode. Daniel Negreanu is understood to be a huge fan. The only real negative is that I’ve yet to be invited on. Probably just an oversight

S28E3 - Thomas Boivin Daryl McAleenan Kyna England Matt Savage
Q: What, in your opinion, are the deficiencies in the liquidity model for satellites and why might a different system be better for players overall?
The live satellite ecosystem benefits from allowing multiple seats per player because it maintains liquidity and publicity, while the risk is that too many seats or early payouts can dampen participation. A balance is needed where there are enough qualifiers to preserve value and visibility, but not so many that the field becomes overcrowded or late-reg heavy. A hybrid approach—limiting some seats upfront while preserving multi-seat options—can maintain broad access and still keep events attractive for pros and recreational players alike.
The Lock-In 112 - Sam Greenwood
Q: How does Sam frame the evolution of poker content—from live streams and blogs to AI-driven clips—and what does it mean for aspiring players?
Sam argues that while short-form content and AI tools accelerate reach and engagement, lasting value comes from deep, principled study, long-form content, and a disciplined, brick-by-brick approach to skill development.
The Lock-In 112 - Sam Greenwood
Q: Brad Owen's downswing and its impact on his identity as a player and content creator—what does this reveal about the pressures on top professionals?
It shows that even elite players face identity and mental pressure during downswings, and that authenticity in sharing struggles resonates with audiences while underscoring the ongoing balance between performance, sponsorship obligations, and personal well-being.
The Lock-In 111~ Will Shillibier: 2025 Poker News In Review Show
Q: What impact will new tax laws have on American players?
Will explained how new tax regulations could lead to larger burdens for players, especially with deductions for losses now being limited, potentially affecting participation rates.
The Lock-In 111~ Will Shillibier: 2025 Poker News In Review Show
Q: Is it hypocritical for WSOP to allow deal making at certain events and not others?
Dara criticized the inconsistency in WSOP's policies on deal making and suggested it should be openly facilitated to enhance player experience.
