Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How The Food Industry Hijacked Nutrition Science - Brian Sanders - #60
Q: Why do different researchers come to conflicting dietary conclusions?
It depends on perspective, observational biases, how data is interpreted, and the adaptability of humans across cultures; there's no one-size-fits-all diet, and context matters for what sustains health.
#53 - Heather Morrison - Your Beliefs About Yourself Are Holding You Back
Q: What is a practical approach to dealing with nerves before a talk?
Label the situation as a challenge you can manage, use realistic self-talk like acknowledging the nerves and the task ahead, and rely on rehearsed structures to stay in control of your message.
#53 - Heather Morrison - Your Beliefs About Yourself Are Holding You Back
Q: What would be step one for improving your public speaking in an actionable way?
Recognize that public speaking is a skill, not a talent, and start by meaningful preparation, including jot notes, practicing out loud, and gradually reducing script reliance while staying focused on the audience.
#57 - Shawn Wells - The Supplement Industry Is Lying To You — Here's Proof
Q: What are we looking for to discern good brands from the garbage out there?
Good brands are those that have been around for a while, maintain solid quality control, disclose ingredients and doses, and avoid inexpensive private-label practices. The speaker suggests looking for established manufacturers with robust QC programs and transparent labeling.
Non-Toxic Living Expert: Your Home Is Making You Sick - Craig McCloskey - #61
Q: How do you handle experimentation with new supplements or biohacking tools?
Approach it with curiosity, share results with your audience, and be willing to adjust or stop based on outcomes rather than clinging to a brand or trend.
