Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#35 - Amy Morin - Why Mental Toughness Is Overrated (And What Actually Makes You Strong)
Q: How has social media and the pandemic shifted what mental strength means?
She notes that not expecting immediate results has become harder due to rapid online feedback, and stresses adapting the 13 Things framework to new challenges
#35 - Amy Morin - Why Mental Toughness Is Overrated (And What Actually Makes You Strong)
Q: What is the first trait someone should start developing to become mentally stronger?
Amy says to start by giving up things that hold you back and eliminate bad mental habits, then add gratitude and emotion naming as foundational practices.
#029 - Joseph Phair - Understanding Health and Healing
Q: Does ketone ingestion affect sleep at all? Should I be concerned about timing it around sleep?
Ketones can actually improve sleep quality for many people, though timing depends on the individual. The formula includes elements like theobromine and paraxanthin, which can have mild stimulating effects for some; others may tolerate it late in the day. It's about personal experimentation and dialing in what works best for each person.
#029 - Joseph Phair - Understanding Health and Healing
Q: Talk to me about ketones. At what point did you find them and how did they help you?
Ketones became a pivotal energy source after my traumatic brain injury. Initially, I used ketone esters for performance, then discovered ketone salts, which, bonded to electrolytes, provided a more bioavailable and tolerable form of ketones. They helped restore energy, clarity, and overall vitality, supporting my recovery and enabling a new product venture, Godspeed.

Q: And I want to know what that's about, what it entails, because it seemed like a lengthy, multi-month protocol, and then why you were doing it, and the benefits you were hoping to get out of it.
The detox journey started with recognizing that our biology is resilient but needs a solid foundation. It includes a sequence of steps—from a colon cleanse to parasite detox, liver and gut rebuilding, and careful management of heavy metals in a staged manner. The aim is to prime the body so detox can be effective, rather than chasing quick fixes with band-aids. It also involves environmental controls (filters, non-toxic surroundings) and ongoing lifestyle changes to support long-term health.
