179: Feel Burnt Out & Invisible in Your UX Job Search? How Emmanuel Re-Entered the UX Job Market After a Career Break
Q: Emmanuel, what were the biggest shifts you experienced in your process after joining the program?
The biggest changes were learning to articulate impact more clearly, working on three assets in parallel (resume, compass statement, LinkedIn), and benefiting from rapid, structured feedback in the CSL community which reduced iteration cycles and helped me translate effort into interview-ready materials.
179: Feel Burnt Out & Invisible in Your UX Job Search? How Emmanuel Re-Entered the UX Job Market After a Career Break
Q: To kick us off, I really would just get a sense as to what you do in the world of user experience, what you are doing now. So Emmanuel, why don't you kick us off?
I took a deliberate career break to relocate, rebuilt my portfolio, and then faced a tough first year of job searching where I burned out. By joining Career Strategy Lab, I started updating my assets, learning to tell a cohesive story about my impact, and leveraging the community and feedback to shorten iterations and regain confidence. This led to inbound interest and a more targeted approach to applications.
