EP 152 - Elder and Wife w/ Craig & Emily Hayes
Q: What advice or input would you have for anyone listening, whether that's a man who had considered being an elder or a deacon in the Lord's Church, or a woman who would maybe serve alongside a husband in that role?
Bible knowledge is very important, along with continuing to work on marriage and family. Get involved and authentically engage with people in your congregation.
Ep 153 - Elders continued w/ Jason Westbrooks
Q: Can you talk to us about the mix of joy and grief that comes with being an elder?
While there are definitely burdens and difficult experiences, the rewards of seeing the congregation thrive and grow outweigh those challenges.
Ep 153 - Elders continued w/ Jason Westbrooks
Q: What was that transition like for you to move from a member of the teaching team to an actual elder?
The transition was fairly easy as I had previously served as a deacon, but there was a perceptible change in the dynamics of relationships upon becoming an elder.
Ep 153 - Elders continued w/ Jason Westbrooks
Q: Talk to us about your experience as a candidate and appointee, and then how that has informed the process that you and the other elder are putting in place to continue that pattern.
Initially, there was a thorough period of teaching and canvassing candidates, and all nominated men were eventually ordained as they received unanimous support from the congregation.
EP 150 - Evangelists Part 2 - Dallas Carrasco
Q: What does it take to be successful as an evangelist?
It takes a love for God, a love for people, patience, good people skills, and a genuine commitment to living out one's faith.
