  • Not All Albertans are Conservatives.

Could someone tell both Moore and Butts but especially Moore that some Albertans vote NDP. Today many of us are dead set against separatism and know this is divisive and a tragic rupture for our province. But the record needs to show that Jason Kenney and Danielle Smith have both contributed to this situation. Danielle has much difficulty with the truth and sadly I think she is sowing the seeds for this disruption and Albertans will be left having to pay.

  • I really enjoy the topics discussed, as well as Peter's regular guests. I do wish Peter would move things along a bit faster, especially at the beginning. And Peter's use of "um" or "em" can be a tad irritating...

  • Keep er’ up!

Truly love this podcast and the shows of Dr. Stein and Friday’s Good Talk. In a world that seems upside down, love this podcast in that it brings consistency in high level of smart dialogue that helps in my understanding of this complex world.

Honestly, great guests, terrible Mansbridge. ARE YOU READY? No, I’m not ready - that’s why I tuned in. So pompous. You know…you know…

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Your Turn - Ask Me Anything
Q: David Dunham in Fort St. John asks if Caroline Levitt believes what she says at press conferences.
The host suggests two possibilities: she may be a true believer or she may be lying; he leans toward the former, arguing she could be a true believer working for Trump.
How Trump Lost His War And Is Pretending He Won
Q: What are the key differences between the current potential deal and the Obama-era JCPOA?
The current discussions emphasize a possible five-to-ten-year enrichment moratorium and more assertive inspections, whereas the Obama agreement focused on strict enrichment limits and longer-term monitoring with a defined sunset clause.
How Trump Lost His War And Is Pretending He Won
Q: Is this framework agreement a better deal than Obama's, or is it still in flux?
The framework is not final yet; there could be improvements like a holiday from enrichment and surprise inspections, but crucial details remain unsettled and subject to back-and-forth among the parties.
Who To Believe -- Iran or the United States?
Q: Do you believe the Iranians, or do you believe the Americans?
Janice Stein explains that credibility is eroded on all sides by inconsistent messaging, internal power struggles, and the strategic incentives each side has to frame the truth in a certain way, making it difficult to determine which actor is most trustworthy at any given moment.
The U.S. Versus Germany, And Why The Rest of Us Should Be Worried.
Q: What role do sanctions relief and economic leverage play in potential nuclear negotiations with Iran?
Sanctions relief could be a bargaining chip to incentivize long-term restraint on enrichment, but it must be paired with verifiable limits and international oversight to prevent a broader escalation or erosion of nonproliferation norms.
