  • Perfect for the new Batman comic reader

I grew up obsessed with the animated series, movies, and Arkham video games. I needed something to do during the ✨pandemy✨and picked up year one after I stumbled upon this podcast. This pod is partially to blame for the absurd amount of money I have spent on floppys and trades after nearly 25 years of not having a comic collecting hobby. This pod is seriously that good. Since then, I have worked through the Batman mythos and listened to Ryan and the gang break down the stories that have inspired... more

Batman & Robin: Year One with Alex Segura (Episode 269)
Q: When did you first read Batman & Robin Year One and why was this the book you wanted to discuss?
Alex Segura explains that the project felt like a natural extension of the Batman and Daredevil crossovers he admires, and that the collaboration between Mark Waid and Chris Samnee offered a timeless Batman experience that balances homage with original storytelling.
Batman '66 Writer Jeff Parker (Episode 265)
Q: What was your favorite Batman story?
One that jumped to mind was 'Death Flies the Haunted Sky,' which was written by Archie Goodwin and illustrated by Alex Toth; however, I really liked the art from Don Newton and Gene Colan's runs as well.
Batman '66: Main Title (Episode 264)
Q: Did you ever do this when you were a youngin watching this show, try and craft a narrative around these opening credits?
I feel like I never in this level of detail, but I feel like I did a version of that in my, you know, three, four, five-year-old brain.
Batman '66: Main Title (Episode 264)
Q: What is your relationship slash history with the Batman TV series?
I don't remember a time in life that I was not a fan of this series.

Q: How about a favorite panel?
I really like the big reveal of Lord Death Man with all the ninjas in the trees behind him.
