I’m sorry to say that all of the commenters are correct. Ralph talks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much. He bizarrely thinks he’s the star of the show. He is quirky to the point of infuriating. He ruins the balance and pace of every show. He has crazy takes — despite supposedly being a decades-long expert. He is highly irritating in many, many ways. He needs to go.
Used to look forward to this pod, now it’s almost unlistenable. Here’s the talk time breakdown: Ralph: 90%, Stew: 6%, Bruce: 4%. Ralph takes ten minutes to explain his view when the average listener understands his opinion within 10 seconds. Ralph has never had an unexpressed thought
Listened for years because it gave a reasonable national perspective on college football and these guys have integrity – definitely not hot-take artists, which is great. Feels like there’s an over-focus on the SEC, which you can get in other places in greater detail if that’s your bag. Also feels like a few too many straw man arguments that get made to be contrarian during discussion. Appreciate their articles, especially Stu’s, which they dive into in more depth during the pod, which is nice, t... more
Usually good show but why is national media only covering Pavia? Mendoza won the heismen and the only thing I’ve heard about is Pavia? Why?
The show was great two years ago. Now Stew and Bruce are the pretentious gatekeepers of college football. Takes based on emotion rather than reality, never wanting to say a bad thing about Fox, but bashing ESPN or any other network any chance they get, and acting if anyone who has an opinion other than their own is moronic. I actually enjoy having Ralph on the show to give some down to earth takes.
