  • Not worth it anymore

I was a listener in the old days like 20 years ago. This podcast offered a lot of great content then. Unfortunately, the show has gone downhill post Jordan and post Covid. The topics and hosts have a long winded way of saying nothing aka word vomit and there are way too many adds for the content. I’ve just skipped each episode for a while but now I’m just going to unsubscribe.

  • Advertisements Galore

It’s been a while since I have listened to this podcast ever since Jordan left, but your advice and tips don’t sound sincere and genuine.. It all sounds scripted with an advertisement every 30 seconds . Very frustrating.

The Job Search Mistake Everyone Makes | Michelle Schafer
Q: What role does networking play in modern job searches, and how can people cultivate it without seeming transactional?
The guests emphasize the importance of weak ties, meaningful introductions, and ongoing value exchanges (emotional support, knowledge sharing, endorsements) to keep the network alive and accessible when opportunities arise.
The Job Search Mistake Everyone Makes | Michelle Schafer
Q: Why is it a big mistake to apply everywhere after a job loss, and how should people rethink their approach?
She shares a concrete anecdote about someone who applied to 300 jobs in a week, illustrating how depth and targeting—through understanding what energizes you and what you won't tolerate—yields better interviews and outcomes.
The Job Search Mistake Everyone Makes | Michelle Schafer
Q: With layoff surging, AI reshaping industries, and the hidden job market growing, what actually works in 2026's brutal job market?
Michelle explains that the traditional spray-and-pray approach is ineffective; instead, people should reflect on five core questions to align their work with true energy, values, transferable skills, organizational fit, and non-negotiables, and then pursue opportunities that match those insights.
The Hidden Status Game of Hypocrisy | Michael Hallsworth
Q: Walk us through those four worlds as you frame them out in the book, because I think many of us now can take a look at the culture that we're in.
The four worlds describe two positive paths where trust is built and two negative paths where accountability becomes punitive; the book argues for navigating toward the constructive ends while avoiding the extremes of over-punishment or total laissez-faire.
