  • Cruelty by Nature, Dr. Peter Solano

Thank you for educating me of this issue of cruelty and harm inflicted intentionally to achieve a goal. This is a level of aggression I needed to understand in my personal and professional life. I think this is timely and we see it in our world on so many levels today….the “not caring”. This Power Struggle where nothing matters but status and power. I do believe it is linked to insecurity and absence of vulnerability, but adults in this case, are users and use this as high arousal of dopamine. W... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Clinical Levels of Self Care with David Crow, L.Ac.
Q: What inspired you to propose the topic of Clinical Levels of Self Care?
The guest explains this is his clinical focus after decades of practice, moving toward telemedicine and emphasizing education, critical thinking, and integrating the best parts of all medical systems to empower patients.
When “Healthy” Makes You Weak: Escaping Modern Wellness Brainwashing with Christian Bates
Q: How would you share a simple, actionable thing someone could do right now to feel closer to this sense of well-being?
Start with a small, concrete change like replacing seed oils with butter in your meals, then add a strength element to your routine such as pulling exercises to balance back muscles, all while maintaining a non- dogmatic, sustainable pace.
When “Healthy” Makes You Weak: Escaping Modern Wellness Brainwashing with Christian Bates
Q: What are a few of the things you learned that shifted your philosophy toward being your best for the longest?
I realized that short-term benefits from a new approach often came with long-term drawbacks, so I evolved toward a more balanced, long-lasting set of practices, including animal-based nutrition, nose-to-tail eating, and functional adaptations like adaptogens, while keeping room for flexibility and personal experience.
Cruelty by Nature with Dr. Peter Salerno
Q: What practical steps can someone take when dealing with potential group or cult-like dynamics?
The guest explains the dangers of charismatic leadership and coercive group dynamics, recommending pattern recognition, validating information from reliable sources, and prioritizing personal safety and reality-testing over loyalty to a group or leader.
Cruelty by Nature with Dr. Peter Salerno
Q: What can people do in recovery to avoid being manipulated by intentional abusers?
He emphasizes getting accurate information early, seeking psychoeducation, choosing specialists who understand brain science and intentional abuse, and developing an exit strategy rather than trying to rehabilitate the abuser. He also highlights adjusting therapy modalities to fit the nervous system and focusing on concrete actions over past narratives.
