  • An informative and enjoyable listen

Even tho we live in Ottawa, we’re hooked on Andrew’s podcast (from a visit to the Eastern Townships last fall). Totally enjoyable and informative. Great segments with Tom and Dr. Mitch and other guests. Andrew has a nice casual approach; and we enjoy his wit.

  • Speaking for the ones that can’t.

Andrew has to stop interrupting his coworkers. They feel it and so do the audience.

  • Tom Mulcair political analysis

Tom Mulcair deserves his own podcast. We can not always catch his weekday segments in the am with Andrew Carter and in the pm with Aaron Rand.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Dr. Mitch: Could permanent nerve damage be reversed?
Q: What if nerve damage that was once thought to be permanent could actually be reversed?
The host introduces the topic and Dr. Mitch explains that researchers are exploring nerve regeneration using organoids derived from stem cells, which model motor neurons and their connections; progress suggests axons can regenerate beyond the embryonic stage in controlled models, with strategies like a progesterone–like substance to extend regenerative capacity, though practical application will take years.
Dr. Mitch: New study links vaping to heart and lung issues among young people
Q: What do we know now about vaping and youth health?
Vaping can cause measurable harm to young people's lungs and risk of nicotine addiction, even when the youths have not smoked cigarettes or marijuana.
How would Alberta seperation affect legal and treaty questions for First Nations?
Q: Well, Robert, how many treaties are there across this country?
There are many treaties across Canada, including older ones like the Robson Treaty and agreements with the Wendakei and Hurons in Ontario, with modern treaties continuing to be signed like those recognizing the Red River Métis as a government. The overall system includes a mix of historic treaties and ongoing negotiations that still shape land rights and governance today.
Mulcair: According to Jean Chretien, Alberta's referendum is not a real one
Q: What was your first summer job as an MNA?
Mulcair describes working at Skirt Togs in the Schmada district on Maier, earning $1.25 an hour, with long hours and learning about deductions, which framed his early views on labor and wages.
Here are some of the unusual items that have been left behind in Quebec Ubers
Q: Jonathan, good morning.
Jonathan responds with a greeting and sets the tone for discussing the Lost & Found items and how Uber Quebec tracks them.
