Levi reminded me that difficulty isn’t limited to stepfamilies and that the kids are alright.
Episode Hell-yeah-ven! (Does that work?) This is such a great chat with my dear friend, Karen. We spent a lot of time catching up and going off on tangents that weren't relevant or necessarily appropriate. I had fun re-listening and editing in a way ... more
This episode is a special treat because we get to hear about how Cassie's life in a stepfamily helped her approach life in a blended family. Any listener who is worried about how it will all look in the end needs to give this one a listen.
Able, the crown jewel of our sleepy town, tells about how being loved and raised by a village is a pretty great intro to life.
Jess is living the dream! She's got a cutting-edge approach to step parenting and has a story to share of bonding with her stepdad at a music festival.
In this episode, we hear Melissa tell about her experience in a difficult nuclear family, subsequent separating of her parents and what it was like on the other side of it. This is an important look at what the "Nacho Child" approach could look like ... more
Wyatt describes a childhood that includes (but is not limited to) campgrounds, alleged attempted murder and kidnapping.

My step kids are grown but I and still trying to figure things out. I wish I’d had more resources like this when my step kids were young.
I love the topic of this podcast! Being from a stepfamily, I think it is much needed and there are so many stories to tell! The step family story can have so many different versions, even in the same family. And it is such a common family type but no one ever really talks about it. I can’t wait to listen to more of these!
This podcast is filling a needed gap in the world! Intelligent conversation and real purpose guide the thoughts here. Worth listening too!! ❤️
Thank you for sharing great information on a topic that is not addressed often!
This is an interesting and under explored topic.
My daughter craves more stories of other step parents and children.
These are the stories I’ve needed to hear for a long time. I am already a dedicated listener and looking forward to more!
Normalizing the step-experience, both from the child's point of view and the adult's, is a powerful way to help us move forward with common experiences in a time when division is rife. Thank you for putting this out into the world! I look forward to more episodes!
Omg! Such a need for this topic! Great!
