  • My fave!!

I consider myself a bit of a podcast junky. I love all kinds of podcasts. I don’t recall how I stumbled across this one, but it is my absolute favorite! The quality of the content, the sound quality, the wonderful story telling, the interview excerpts, the great music in just the right spots with just the right volume, the duration. You all have nailed it. I only wish I had found you before you started fresh again.

    Well done!

  • Interesting but very white

The guests and authors referenced are overwhelmingly white and male, nearly all American. Some of the topics are interesting but it feels like a very narrow view.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Supercommunicators
Q: What are the three kinds of conversations we need to have in order to better communicate?
They are practical conversations, emotional conversations, and social conversations.
Thriving In Times of Epic Disruption
Q: What do you mean by disruption causes a shadow, and how should we be thinking about that as leaders?
Disruption drives growth but also leaves behind losers; understanding the shadows of disruption helps leaders to navigate and act decisively while being aware of the risks.
Thriving In Times of Epic Disruption
Q: How can sometimes giving people what they want cause us to miss an opportunity to disrupt the market?
Listening too closely to your best customers can prevent you from recognizing disruptive innovations when they come, as they may not signal the coming changes accurately.
The Creative Shift
Q: How do you know when an idea is good? Is there a way to quantify that?
A great idea often feels blindingly obvious once seen, but assessing its value can be challenging without precedent; it's important to manage risk rather than seek certainty.
The Creative Shift
Q: What are some common misunderstandings that you think leaders have about creativity in general?
Many leaders believe their teams are not creative, but the real issue is that the conditions for creativity are often lacking in their organizations.
