  • Focus on the Savior

Mom to a returned missionary and a current missionary, and I love the suggestions of connecting our children to the savior. I love the focus on our children learning to make covenants and baptism is just the first step, but ultimately the goal of making covenants is to be in the temple and that is where we can find ourselves closer to the savior. I loved the background info from the mission president and the insight on how hard they work and serve to help our youth gather Israel. Thank you!

Belonging Over Checklists: A New Way to Teach the Temple with Teaching Restored Podcast
Q: What's a practical way to keep language focused on the Savior when teaching about endowment and covenants?
Define terms precisely, use words that point back to Jesus, and present concepts as patterns of daily living that increasingly align us with the Savior's love.
Belonging Over Checklists: A New Way to Teach the Temple with Teaching Restored Podcast
Q: How do you frame the temple for youth so it feels relevant and less like a checklist?
Lead with empathy, focus on belonging and the concrete ways temple worship can alleviate anxiety, and then introduce covenants as natural outcomes of the relationship with the Savior.
Jacob’s Ladder, 20,000 Endowments, and the Power of Ordinances with Michael King Part 1
Q: Could you give a quick recap for people who don't know what we're talking about?
Jacob and Esau are brothers with a complex history, and Jacob ends up with the birthright. On his journey back to Canaan, he has a vision of a ladder between earth and heaven, symbolizing the steps or rungs to becoming like God. The discussion ties this to the temple as a journey where one is refined, renamed, and prepared to receive covenants that help us return to Heavenly Father.
Eva Timothy on Light, Creation, and Covenants
Q: How has temple worship influenced your creative process and your view of light?
The temple is a masterclass in creation and light; it teaches that we are beings of light and that art is a way to communicate that divine light while aligning with covenants and service to others.
Eva Timothy on Light, Creation, and Covenants
Q: What led you to pivot from secular art to explicitly religious art?
My mission president challenged me to create something for Jesus and the church, which, along with my experiences and the prompting to serve, guided me toward religious themes; the Lord's timing mattered, and it unfolded gradually over years.
